Tanzania: Four dead and 132 injured by train derailment

 Two children among the victims of a rail accident in Tanzania. All eight wagons of the 930 train were derailed.


At least four people, including two children, were killed and 132 others were injured when a passenger train derailed today in the Tambora region of central Tanzania.


According to the announcement of the TRC railway organization, the accident occurred at 11 in the morning (local time) about 10 kilometers away from the Tambora railway station.


The train, of which all eight wagons were derailed, had a total of 930 people on board. They had left Kigoma for Dar es Salaam.


The 132 injured were taken to Tambora city hospital.


The causes of the derailment are being investigated, according to the TRC.
